Loving Hands

Loving Hands Mission

“… the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.”
Isaiah 49:13

The Loving Hands Mission is a mission of love that seeks to utilize the creative talents God has given to comfort those in need. We knit special caps for cancer patients who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy and sew special isolette blankets and “snoodles” (a comfort mechanism) for premature babies. The items are donated to The Humphrey Cancer Center and the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at North Memorial Medical Center. To date, 114 caps, 63 blankets and  8  snoodles  for  a total of 118 items have been donated.

If you want to make a cap or blanket, patterns (one for knitting and one for crocheting) are provided. If you can’t knit or sew, we are more than happy to teach you. These patterns are very easy to learn. If you feel that knitting or sewing is just not your thing but you would still like to help, any donations of yarn, flannel or money would be greatly appreciated.
