David longed to see God in the sanctuary.
Moses asked God to show him His glory.

Both men saw God do amazing deeds but that wasn’t enough for them. They wanted something more.

We are more blessed than they were because in Jesus we now have a full revelation of the glory of God. The glory of God is the sum total of all His attributes. Consider just two of God’s attributes: wisdom and love.

In Jesus we see the full wisdom of God on display.
The wisdom of God can be grasped by even unbelievers when they look at creation. But when we look at Jesus we realize that creation reveals only a fraction of God’s endless wisdom. The multifaceted wisdom of God has been revealed in His plan to rescue people for Himself in Jesus (Ephesians 3:8-11).

In Jesus we see the full love of God on display.
The love of God is assumed by many to mean that God merely overlooks the wrong things we do. But when we look at Jesus we see that God gave His Son because He loved us, and that Son came to be the sacrifice. Nothing was overlooked. Jesus sacrificed Himself. The love of God is muted without the justice of God being satisfied in Jesus (John 3:16-17).

Is Jesus precious to you?
Why do you love Him?
Why do you trust Him?
Why do you desire to be in heaven with Him?
Can you say why?
If one of the reasons is that in Jesus you see the glory of God with eyes of faith, a glory that would otherwise be hidden from your sight, then Jesus is precious to you.

In Jesus look at the wisdom and love of God and let that what you see change you.
Keep looking at Jesus.
You become what you behold.
